Lan graduated in Mathematics at Hanoi Teaching University & and then turned her interests to Fashion at Mode Design Schule Zürich to continue onto Central St. Martin London. Additionally, her passion for music inspired her to study as a music producer & DJ at Pointblank London Lan's many academic pursuits, allow her interests to extend beyond the corporate realm, she is able to enjoy her multi-talents with real knowhow. The eight Capital Centres of Lan to Capital, are treasure houses in her world, that are flourishing into more than just mere pursuits. During the war, my childhood bares witness to Vietnam’s incredible transition from poverty to modernisation. During the globalisation period, which spurred unprecedented growth, Vietnam managed to maintain its beauty and it’s rich old world traditional culture. The people of Vietnam are an endless source of inspiration. Their food, arts, fashion , music, architecture, languages & religious heritage is quick to spark ideas. The nature of a Vietnamese is easily worn on their face, smiling, gentle, positive with a forgiving nature. Their energy is experienced everywhere, clothes, cuisine to arts. I was fortunate in 2013, on behalf of Vietnam Embassy to organise a festival at South Bank, London to celebrate the 40 year relationship between the two countries. As part of my activity I embarked on a journey to visit an ethnic group in Dak Lak, a province situated in the centre area of Tay Nguyen, the Central Highlands of Vietnam. There I discovered intricate, colourful handmade fabrics. With such inspiration, I turned this traditional designs into a contemporary printed fabric. Using hand drawn, digital, illustration, together with complex cutting technics I was able to take, silk, chiffons & cotton fabrics, to create a haute couture collection. Modern London design touched Vietnamese traditional heritage to celebrate the 40 year relationship. It was my personal way to send a message from Vietnam to the world, one of positive energy of the beautiful nation of Vietnam.
